My computer remains broken, mostly because I don't have an easy way to get to Best Buy (where it was bought) to fix it. Maybe my beautiful mother or sister could offer a ride?
So I'm updating from Paul's (ezel paul, gosh I love my hebrew class, i dont know why but even though I already knew "ezel" using it now just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... it makes me miss frau lund, Miriam, do you have her phone number?) I have a meeting with Prof perkinson at 2:30 and then I'm gonna got to Sis's to sew. I'm right now realizing that I have the need for a sewing machine... something sturdy but not too expensive... perhaps i could find something used? Anybody know anything about buying a sewing machine? I also need a car, a safe car (if it's going to not be a huge SUV I need to prove to my dad that it'll keep me safe in the event of an accident (Chasvishalom!)). Any advice on car buying would also be appreciated.

Date: 2006-01-28 01:25 am (UTC)If you're looking for a used car, carfax it (so odd to me to say that when I know the guy who started the company) and see if it's been totalled. When I was buying almost three years ago, I looked for something with a good warranty, good crash test ratings, and good gas mileage that didn't cost an arm and a leg, and ended up with my little Kia. Check out the dealerships that also sell used, because often they'll offer some kind of warranty. A cheap car is often no kind of deal because the money you have to spend getting it to pass inspection offsets any savings, so keep an eye out for that. You'll want to have a trusted mechanic inspect it before you agree to buy it, if it's used. Ask for a maintenance record, and check out whether it's had anything like an engine or transmission replaced, why, and who did it and what kind of guarantee they offered on the work they did.
Dunno if that helps.
